A free morning for Years 10–12 students and parents to get a clearer start on the 2027 HSC. Hear from expert HSC teachers and a student who achieved a 97 ATAR about what it takes to do well. Each session has its own workbook to follow along with and take home.

What you’ll learn
The morning starts and finishes together, with a separate student and parent session in between. Each 45-minute session includes a workbook to follow along with and take home.
In this shared opening session, a student who achieved a 97 ATAR talks about HSC pressure and what helped them do their best.

Students work on English: Texts and Human Experiences and essay writing for Standard and Advanced. At the same time, parents focus on effective parent–student communication and emotional support.

Work through a close-reading example, draft and revise an analytical paragraph, and practise planning an essay argument.

Before you book
The seminar is free, runs for one morning, and is designed for students and their families.
Year 10–12 students and their parents or carers. Students can attend on their own or with one or two parents or guardians.
No. Registration is free for students and attending parents or carers.
During registration, choose the number of students and whether zero, one or two parents/guardians will attend. The booking form collects the family details.
Registration is open from 9:00am. The first session starts at 9:30am, and the program finishes at 12:15pm. It includes three 45-minute sessions with short breaks between them.
The 1 and 7 November sessions are at 21WW Macquarie Lecture Theatre, Macquarie University. The 22 November session is at the University of Sydney; its venue is still to be confirmed.
Yes. There is a workbook for each session. Students and parents can follow along during the morning and take the workbooks home.
